Integrated Society
Gaunshahar is such a place where we can find so many casts within the same territory. Especially Sharki, Newar, Chhetri, Brahman, Gurung, Bishwakarma, Pariyar, Magar and other casts are the inhabitant of this beautiful place. They consists of different cultural identity as per their cast based. Among them most of the casts has been following Hindu religion. Gurung and Magar are some how followers of the Buddhism also. But Gurung and Magars have also equal faith on Hindu religion as other community. From the perspective of religion, Brahmin and Chhetri are more devoted and follows the Hindu rituals, But Damai, Kami and Sharki are not equally free to perform every religious task, like they are prohibited to take Janai. Still there exist cast based discrimination, there is social inequality. People of every cast do not have equal access to the Government and Non-government agencies. They don't have equal access to the resources. But up to now there is not any kind of cast based violence. This is positive aspect, due to the calmness and peaceful nature the society is running smoothly. Peoples are moving to different countries and places for the employment. The society is heading towards the prosperity.
